Designing a public website with Xpages
My wife started her own business recently and she asked me to develop her site. I decided to design it in Xpages because one can never practice too much ;)
Normally this would be a no-brainer because like most people I reuse a lot of my code/design elements. This time however, because this was to be a public site (I normally develop for intranet and business to business) and the total different way Xpages (can) work, I decided to design a new website from scratch.
At frist I wanted to develop a site without any urls, totally controlled by scoped variables and other cool stuff, but after some thought I concluded that to be searchable by searchengines and allow people to bookmark specific pages I would have to use url driven navigation.
So now I ended up with a more or less boring website without any cool stuff :(
I thought about adding some social connectors, but my wife does not like that.
Any suggestions?
